We offer real opportunities to make new friends and sing together and, by encouraging our members to help out in the running of the choir and choosing our repertoire, we aim to create a 'Tottenham choir' sound that truly and accurately reflects the diversity of the local community.

The Musical Director has, since 2013, been Dominic Ellis-Peckham. We foster a friendly and supportive environment, and have regular social activities. We're relaxed but focused when it comes to pursuing musical excellence and have a keen shared purpose in developing our individual vocal skills, and pushing ourselves with new and challenging repertoire from across the centuries and genres. Each season the choir usually promotes around six concerts in London in venues such as St James's Piccadilly and St Paul's Covent Garden, and organises two weekend tours - one in the UK, and one overseas (recent destinations include Paris, Porto and Rome); and we regularly receive external bookings.​ Past engagements have included with Pete Townshend and Alfie Boe for 'Classic Quadrophenia' at the Royal Albert Hall, and with Madonna for the Eurovision Song Contest Final in Tel Aviv.  less

All of them are former members of the “Dresdner Kreuzchor” (choir of the Church of the Holy Cross Dresden) or the “Thomanerchor Leipzig” (St. Thomas choir Leipzig), two of the most famous boy's choirs in Germany. The singers have set themselves the target to present their listeners a wide musical spectrum. Their repertoire consists of vocal music from Renaissance and Baroque to Romanticism to the 20th and 21st century. Important elements are works of Jacobus Gallus, Michael Praetorius, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Francis Poulenc and Rudolf Mauersberger. In addition they also perform with popular music. Music of the “Comedian Harmonists”, “The Beatles”, Billy Joel or the German group “Wise Guys” are also an essential part of their repertoire. From its beginning it has been affiliated with ZAMEK Culture Centre. Experienced and respected pedagogues-musicians look after the musical development of the girls and artistic program. The choir is conducted and creatively inspired by its Artistic Director and Conductor Alicja Szeluga, an educator and choral music aficionado. The Vocal Coach Marzena Michałowska, and accompanying pianist Czesław Łynsza, as well as percussionist Beata Polak complete the musical team. The SKOWRONKI Girls choir also has programs for younger groups. The ensemble is consists of 140 girls aged between 6 and 22. The singers of the choir are secondary school students as well as students from universities of Poznań. The group’s repertoire rediscovers and promotes works of various composers from different periods as well as performs pieces commissioned especially for the choir. It was the official choir of the Masaryk University in Brno between 1999 and 2003. Since then it has continued as a civic association. In 2003 Štěpán Policer took up the artistic leadership of Gaudeamus, since 2007 Dáša Karasová has been leading the choir. The choir has been undoubtedly contributing to the advancement of Brno musical culture by giving concerts and appearing at benefit events annually. For a long time, I felt there was an a cappella choral piece hiding within it, in plain sight. One day I got inspired and gave it a try. Creating a choral adaptation of a piano piece has its challenges. I tried to keep faithful to Satie's original musical inspiration and created lyrics to go with my arrangement that evoke an early summer morning, one of my favourite times of the year. Several months later, I applied to be a participant at one of the Vancouver Chamber choir's Interplay workshops funded by the SOCAN Foundation and to my delight I was accepted. "As dawn breaks" was one of the pieces that this amazing choir sight read for me on the spot. VCC director Jon Washburn and choir members then provided me with valuable feedback, for which I am very grateful.
