It is based in Tsuru City, located at the foot of Mt.Fuji. Under the our conductor, Prof. Masahiko Shimizu, we always practice in this place, blessed in nature, with many friends who get together at Tsuru University. Including the annual concert held on "World Chorus Day" on the second Sunday of December every year, we perform at elementary and junior high schools, social welfare facilities, etc., and sing at chorus festivals, giving the "TSURUBUN SOUND" in a variety of venues. We have also awarded at the All Japan Chorus Competition in many times and often won top prizes in the largest chorus competition in Japan.  less

There are no auditions and the standard of music that we produce is consistently high. We are regularly supported by high quality professional soloists and orchestras with the result that we produce highly enjoyable and satisfying concerts for audience and singers alike. We believe that anyone who enjoys singing should be able to experience the fun of making music with other people. All we ask is enthusiasm and a willingness to join in! Whilst in all parts of the choir we have some excellent singers, capable and willing to perform solo or in small groups this is not a requirement for joining. Founded in 1970 by a group of enthusiastic amateur singers, our repertoire ranges from the great classical Choral works to modern contemporary pieces. Under the skilled direction of Howard Kane, who was appointed musical director in 2008, and ably assisted by Robert Woods the choir has grown in size and reputation. Rehearsals Monday nights are rehearsal nights which are held in Frodsham Methodist Church, Kingsley Rd, WA6 6BA from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. New members are welcome to come along and give us a try. We rehearse from September through to July for our four main concerts, which are held in Frodsham, and also take our music to other venues in the area. Groups of singers from within the choir are available to sing at weddings and the choir regularly puts on events to raise money for local charities.  less
