Singing mostly Israeli songs, Members of the Choir are from various professions: Doctors, Lawyers, Engeeners, Social workers, Scientists, teachers.artists, the thing we have in common is our love of singing together , the challenge of improving our skills by studying and practicing in order to get an impressive final result. Our musical director and conductor is one of the best most appreciated musicians in Israel ,he has a lot of experience and all our repertoire consists of his very special arrangements. Our repertoire consists of various musical styles : Israeli folk classics, Translated international songs by the Beatles and others, Gospels, A Cappella pieces. the Choir participated in Radio and T.V shows , and in Choir competitions, and is highly regarded as one of the best amateur Choirs in Israel.  less

Since its founding, the Choir has had about 80 active Members who enjoy the lively nature of Gospel music and who are inspired by the message of Gospels and Spirituals. the Choir sings this style of music in all its forms, ranging from simple three or four part all male/female vocal arrangements, to four part mixed arrangements. As well, they also perform more complex eight or ten part scores featuring solo parts which are sung by soloists from the Choir. Due to active co-operation with various youth organisations, this Choir consists of many different generations who all get on well with one and other. the Choir is accompanied by the 'Rejoice Band' which is comprised of piano, drums, an electric bass, and additional instruments when required. Founded in 1989 by Mr. Albert Morland to provide an opportunity for ex-Members of the Wonderboom High School Choir to continue singing together after matriculating, it has since evolved to include Members from a broader community that come from various backgrounds and professions (including law, accounting, nursing, teaching and IT) and are between 18 and 65 years of age. the Choir has toured and performed across South Africa during the past 30 years and has an established reputation as a warm, friendly and “no-fuss” group with good choral sound who are just as comfortable performing at nursing homes and other charitable events as they are performing alongside the best Choirs in the world on International stages, for instance, at the 10th World Choir Games in 2018, where they took home a silver medal (79.5%) in the champion’s category for mixed adult Choirs.
