This song can be understood on two levels.
At first sight it is a simple sentimental piece,
but beneath it lies a history of pure imagination,
enchantment and impossibility.
The composer already realises he is
no longer feeling what he is writing,
he is just weaving a spell,
over an ostinato guitar motif,
to try to bring the feelings back
(hence the title "Incantation").
He has found in his life that
whenever he writes a song
for the object of his desire,
he has already
begun to stop feeling that desire ...
it is a sign that the relationship
is about to change
or disappear.
But the whole thing is indeed
enchantment and Magic:
you can dream and
you can take the song at face value
if you wish.

Our repertoire is all original, written by choir members and has emerged as a new tribal choral tradition that honors death as a natural, expected, sometimes very inspiring event in a life. While we don't require auditions, our welcome process is rigorous. This kind of singing is spiritual work and is deeply rewarding for those who are called to it.

"Choral music is a Perfect example that something can equal more than the sum of its parts. By working together, we can do amazing things. In a time of divided ideologies, global uncertainty, and in a place like Chicago where entire neighborhoods can be overcome by violence and hopelessness, what better antidote than choral music to bring people together and make them a bit happier?" - Mark Tomasino, Founder & Artistic Director less
