Our program has grown to 3 Vocal jazz Ensembles. The music we perform represents a crossover of the jazz and popular music idioms. The students in the KCKCC VJ program learn Jazz Education through a variety of methods. First of all, each of these students take private Vocal jazz coachings weekly. They also perform music by professional Vocal Ensembles, arrangements by well-known Vocal jazz educators, and learn jazz and popular music standards (both through the Ensemble and in private coachings).  less

The Girl Choir of South Florida is the premier singing Ensemble for young women in the tri-county area. The Girl Choir, led by Artistic Director Wallis Peterson, has been extolled by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel as “imaginative, accessible, expressive, and entertaining”, gaining a reputation for delivering compelling concert programming. The Girl Choir’s repertoire is broad, from ancient to modern, classical to popular, sacred to secular, and folk to Broadway, encompassing many cultures, faiths, and traditions. Since its foundation in 2007, the Bremen based Ensemble has been putting its own spin on the world of music, with interpretations that continue to surprise their audiences. Six male solists present the deep yet humorous side of Vocal music. Their clarity in sound and expression, the abillity to let music speak for itself, sets them apart. Their individual artistic skills and personalities harmonize into a one of a kind Ensemble! Pro Vocants musical interpretation has been well received all over, earning them a third placing at the German A cappella Contest 2012! Under the direction of soprano and singing teacher Michelle Nova, the singers perform an eclectic repertoire of classical, sacred, operatic and modern choral music. Their unique sound is characterised by its vibrancy and fullness, a result of the bel canto technique which all the singers are trained in.
