The first part of my setting of Psalm 42 for choir, soloists, organ and string orchestra (Ps 42, 2-5). It was recently performed in Lucerne, Switzerland.

This piece was presented in the seco...  moreThe Vocal Art Ensemble, an adult a capella chorus directed by Tracia Barbieri in Davis, California, presents Missa Brevis #8 of Eleanor Daley as part of their "Solstice -- Dance of Light" concerts December 9-11, 2011. This piece was presented in the second half of the program, representing the changing seasons, which paralleled the changing moods and textures in the piece's three mini movements.  

2013.5.20 北歐音畫夏季音樂會 2 大東文化藝術中心演藝廳 指揮: 科勒.漢肯 Kåre Hanken Da pacem Domine - Arvo Pärt 請賜平安 - 佩爾特 愛沙尼亞當代著名作曲家佩爾特（Arvo Pärt, 1935-），1976年起，他創造出以單一和弦支撐全曲結構的作曲手法，如教堂的單一鐘聲般，稱為「鐘」（tintinnabuli）手法，代表作為〈聖母讚主曲〉（Magnificat, 1989）。〈請賜平安〉是2004年受西班牙古樂專家沙瓦爾（J...  more2013.5.20 北歐音畫夏季音樂會 2 大東文化藝術中心演藝廳 指揮: 科勒.漢肯 Kåre Hanken Da pacem Domine - Arvo Pärt 請賜平安 - 佩爾特 愛沙尼亞當代著名作曲家佩爾特（Arvo Pärt, 1935-），1976年起，他創造出以單一和弦支撐全曲結構的作曲手法，如教堂的單一鐘聲般，稱為「鐘」（tintinnabuli）手法，代表作為〈聖母讚主曲〉（Magnificat, 1989）。〈請賜平安〉是2004年受西班牙古樂專家沙瓦爾（Jordi Savall, 1942-）委託而作，他在女中音聲部置入葛利果聖歌素材，其餘聲部尾隨作和聲變化，安靜地呈現樂曲，佩爾特也特別將這首禱詞獻給2004年馬德里車站爆炸案的犧牲者。 Da pacem Domine, in diebus nostris quia non est alius qui pugnet pro nobis nisi tu Deus noster. 主啊！在我們活著的每一天，請賜我們平安 因為除你以外 再沒有誰 會為我們而爭戰

This particular setting was composed with a small mixed-ability choir in mind, so the voices are mainly in two parts (men's and women's voices), splitting to four parts (SATB) occasionally, where the words suggest it. The musical style is reminiscent of the 19th century although the piano part does go into 20th century style syncopation at times.
