A message from the Director: "Christmas 2020 is the first year in our 43-year history we have no live concerts, so we present this Virtual Concert of 6 carols. I am proud of my musical colleagues for putting these videos together. I thank them for their loyalty to our fans and their fellow Choir members, and for their diligence in preparing individual performances to such a demanding degree of musicianship. We all share an understanding of how important it is right now to share the joy of song with the world. Ely's traditional male Choir is made up of 22 boy choristers and 6 Lay Clerks (gentleman singers). Services are sung daily, and the Choir is in constant demand for many extra concerts and recitals. We want to preserve this extraordinary tradition for future generations to enjoy. Of course, maintaining this wonderful music tradition costs money - currently £350,000 a year.
