The Choir has a high calibre of singers drawn by its demanding Musical standard and the opportunity to explore recently created Music. Among the group's twenty-four members are piano and voice teachers, soloists, Choir directors, organists and others with Musical training. The ensemble has previously reached the quarter- and semi-finals of the CBC Radio Competition for Amateur Choirs. In May 2010, they were awarded second place in the Chamber Choir category of the National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs. They have performed twice at Podium, Canada's national choral conference, most recently in May 2014 in Halifax.  less

The Choir’s extensive repertoire covers all periods of vocal Music and the 20th. century, among them choral works composed by R.R. Klein, A. Koerppen, F. Farcas and many others more. Some of the works have been specially composed for HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen. At the same time the Choir dedicates itself to oratorioes usually performed together with the female Choir “Dzintars” Riga / Latvia. Numerous concert tours and participations in international festivals took the HARMONIE to Austria, the Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, USA and Wales. In Wales the Choir won first prize in the male Choir category at the International “Eisteddfod” Llangollen in 1995 and 2007(second prize in 2003). Ira Spaulding, born in New York, studied with Robert Simpson at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey (Bachelor of Music) and also holds a Master of Music in Voice and Choral Conducting from Eastern Kentucky University. He gave numerous recitals in America as well as having taught voice, conducting, vocal pedagogy and literature at several colleges and conducted various vocal ensembles (community oratorio Choirs, church Choirs, boys Choirs and a jazz vocal ensemble). He currently serves on the faculty at City College of New York where he teaches voice, conducting and leads vocal ensembles and Choirs.  less
