who have been active in choral ensembles in HIGH SCHOOL or college are encouraged to audition for this choir. Auditions for
Chorale can take place at anytime to fill necessary spots in the group. Once students are selected for Chorale, they are
members until they choose to leave, are removed, or when they graduate. In addition to its regular concert schedule, the
Chorale tours each spring (Orlando, ’09; NYC, ’10; Atlanta, ’11, Boston, ’12, Orlando, ’13). A yearly scholarship is offered to people who are successfully placed in the group. less

The history of the Benedictine Choir dates back to the early 1900. It was Mr. Bonnie Fonseka, a distinguished Old Boy, who's vision soon came to be a Benedictine tradition, by forming a MUSICal club. This prompted the birth of the first College Choir. The... moreThe history of the Benedictine Choir dates back to the early 1900. It was Mr. Bonnie Fonseka, a distinguished Old Boy, who's vision soon came to be a Benedictine tradition, by forming a MUSICal club. This prompted the birth of the first College Choir. The Choir acquired a reputation for top class singing and in addition often invited to perform at important national events such as to perform with other SCHOOLs when princess Elizabeth visited Ceylon in 1952.
Since Mr. Bonnie Fonseka’s retirement there were many dedicated young MUSICians who undertook the responsibility and uphill task of training the Choir. Some of them were Mr. Robert Joseph, Mr. Francis De Almeida, Mr. Nicholas Johnpulle, Rev Bro. Augustine and Mr. Ravein George.
Mr. Ravein George revived the Choir in 1996 and guided them to reach the height of success as being cited as a Classical Choir. The Choir won the all island singing competition in the year 1999. The Choir of recent times is being Directed by a student of Ravien George and current... less
