The Surrey Children's Choir family represents 3 Choirs, a Junior Training Choir, an Intermediate Training Choir, and the Senior Surrey Children's Choir. The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber Choir, a mixed young adult chorus...  moreThe Surrey Children's Choir family represents 3 Choirs, a Junior Training Choir, an Intermediate Training Choir, and the Senior Surrey Children's Choir. The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber Choir, a mixed young adult chorus, and a community adult chorus. The Junior and Intermediate Training Choirs (JTC and ITC) provide a program of sequentially developed skills which prepare choristers for admission into the Surrey Children's Choir. The training Choirs perform annually at the Family Christmas Concert and Year End concert (held in May of each year). They also often compete at the Fraser Valley Kiwanis Music Festival, always with great results. The training Choirs may also perform at various events in the community. The SCC, a treble-voice Choir of boys and girls aged 12-18 is a consistent gold medal winner at local festivals, hailed by Gerald Van Wyck, Vancouver Community College professor as "one of the best children's Choirs in Canada". Even though we have only been going a few months, our numbers have been increasing weekly as more and more people are seduced ...  moreWe are a newly formed chorus who love to sing in 4-part, close-harmony. Very much (but not exclusively) in the barbershop stlye. Even though we have only been going a few months, our numbers have been increasing weekly as more and more people are seduced by the magical sound of ringing chords. We aim to be a serious performing chorus in due course. We have had a very successful 2012 and hope for even better in 2013 where we have a whole host of exciting things planned. Stay tuned! We'd very much be interested in meeting/collaborating with other Choirs in our area. We are on Facebook so have a little look and maybe come and sing a few baas with us!  less
