Our program consists of 5 choirs; Chorale, Women's Ensemble, Concert Choir, Bella Voce and Chamber Singers. We also have C.A.P. (Contemporary A Cappella Project), Women's Octet, and the Innuendos. The last three are co-curricular and the last two are student directed.

Thompson. The 40-80 member A Cappella Choir offers freshman and sophomore singers the opportunity to perform works for larger choirs and to fine-tune the art of choral singing through exposure to music from the Renaissance through the 21st century. In daily rehearsals, choir members hone musicianship skills such as rhythm, sight-reading and the understanding of complex scores. They develop an understanding of the intricacies of vocal production, including pitch and how to blend individual voices together into a unified, beautiful sound. Finally, members learn how to sing in an ensemble and to successfully meld as a team. The choir frequently performs with other School of Music ensembles, including the Utah Philharmonia orchestra, the Wind Ensemble, the Chamber Choir and Women’s Chorus. This choir is partnered with a non-profit organization called the New Yor...  moreThe Salt and Light Chorale is an SATB choir that sings music from a variety of genres such as: Gospel, Spirituals, Jazz, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Russian Choral Music. This choir is partnered with a non-profit organization called the New York Community Alliance for Sickle Cell Anemia Inc. We plan to use our Concert venues for aiding this organization's cause. Our conductor John Hunter II is a young but competent conductor. He received his Master's in Choral Conducting from Mansfield University.
