Away in a manger (words anon, set to a traditional Normandy tune arranged by Reginald Jacques) These carols were recorded on Sunday 13th December 2009 during the first of St Peter's Singers' two now-traditional annual performances to guests at the Espresso Bar of Harvey Nichols' Leeds store in the Victoria Quarter. The choir is directed on this occasion by its regular accompanist David Houlder, Sub-Organist of Leeds Parish Church. The Music Director of St Peter's Singers is Dr Simon Lindley, Organist of Leeds Parish Church and Leeds City Organist, who has held this post since the choir's formation in 1977. KCC performs a vast selection of local and international repertoires, female or male Choral work, a cappella pieces, contemporary chamber choir music, and newly commissioned compositions in its semi annual concerts and other occasions. KCC’s active presence on stages has brought several acclaimed rewards from private and public offices. Under the leadership of the current Artistic Director, Dr. Chia-fen Weng, KCC launched the Elite Workshop to further expand the choir’s caliber in 2007. This program recruited a few young talented singers to act as voice teachers in the choir, such as Hua-chen Liang, Je-jium Chan and Ying-jen Yao, and offers music theory, body movement and dancing lessons to its members as part of this Elite Workshop program.
