We're a group of young professionals who specialise in early music, but Polyphony especially. The Singers are made up of Cathedral choral scholars and Oxbridge choral scholars. They're directed by Matthew Collins.

The choir itself is composed of students, staff, faculty, and members of the Twin Cities community. Over the years, the choir’s repertoire has included performances of: Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, The Requiems of Brahms and Mozart, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, and others. Auditions held every August and January.

Paralia is a touristic seaside village situated on the west coast of the Thermaic Gulf and in the shadow of Olympus. The Festival has two parts: competitive and non-competitive. However, the character and the main concept of both parts is joining music, vacation, friendship and fun. The idea of the Festival is to bring the music closer to the people and to present the music on the streets and the squares of Paralia, Olympic Beach and Katerini. All choir ensembles, regardless of the members’ gender and age can apply for participation at the Festival.  less

The choir’s performance is sometimes a cappella, while at other times accompanied by a jazz trio or piano. Sectional rehearsals are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (11 to 11:50AM).

The group's first piece—William Byrd’s “This sweet and merry month of May”, whose ending celebrated Queen Elizabeth I with the words And greet Eliza with a rhyme: O beauteous Queen of Second Troy, Take well in worth a simple toy. provided a great name for the group. Eliza’s Toyes was born, and existed every summer in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2008, a fair number of Singers who were in Eliza's Toyes are living in Madison once again.
