In his review of the “American Voices” program, Scott Cantrell of the Dallas Morning News wrote “the variety certainly displayed the ensemble’s impressive versatility. Habermann consistently got vivid performances, introspective Music elegantly colored and shaped, extrovert fare delivered with great pizzazz. Individual singers got lots of solo exposure.”
Now in his eleventh season, Artistic Director Joshua Habermann leads the Chorale in repertoire spanning seven centuries, from early polyphony to contemporary works. the composition of the Chorale is truly national in scope and the ensemble is recognized as one of the finest American Chamber Choirs. A recent highlight was an invitational appearance at the American Choral Directors Association National Conference, which was later broadcast by Minnesota Pu... less

there Will Come Soft Rains
there will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
and swallows circling with their shimmering sound;
and frogs in the pools singing at night,
and wild plum trees in tremulous white;
Robins will wear their feathery fire,
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;
and not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.
Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly;
and Spring herself, when she woke at dawn
Would scarcely know that we were gone.

the roses bloom in the month of May,
But my soul's full of gloom suffering in love.
the nightingales sing and are sighing in love,
the passion will kill me, multiply my pain.
Come faster, oh dove, come faster to me,
Come faster, my soul, because I shall die.

O Lord, please hear my prayer
in the morning, when I rise
it's your servant, bound for glory
O, dear Lord, please hear my prayer
O Lord, please hear my prayer
keep me safe within your arms
it's your servant, bound for glory
O, dear Lord, please hear my prayer
When my work on earth is done
and you come to take me home
just to know I'm bound for glory
and to hear you say...
"well done"
done with sin and sorrow
have mercy

Amen
