David's latest opus is recorded in the week that the Singer's set off for their 2013 Choir Tour of Mallorca. The Leeds-based chamber choir St Peter's Singers make a return visit to the beautiful Balearic island of Mallorca from 26th to 29th October 2013. The choir will be directed Alan Horsey and accompanied by its renowned organist David Houlder, who will also perform organ solos in each of the recitals. Each hour-long recital will comprise a panorama of sacred choral music from British and Continental traditions spanning over 500 years. Particular features of the 2013 programmes include celebration of the birth centenary of Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) as well as works by composers with particular associations with Leeds Minster, where the Singers are based. The choir is based near Taunton and stages annual concerts at Wells Cathedral and King’s College Chapel, Taunton, with the finest nationally and internationally renowned soloists and orchestras, performing innovative and varied programmes of music ranging from medieval through to 21st century.

Our members are mainly from a...  moreThe Mayo Male Voice Choir has been in existence for twelve years, it has grown in strength this year from 26 to 42 members, and now has a wide and varied repertory featuring many favorites from light opera to popular musical. Our members are mainly from around the Castlebar area, but with five from Ballinrobe, more from Swinford, Kilkelly and Ballyglass we now truly represent our county. Under the musical direction of Deirdre Lee, from Kiltimagh, Deirdre has been our musical director since the choir’s inception, an honors music graduate of University College Maynooth, having studied under Professor Gerard Gillen. She has been involved in many musicals and events as musical director, arranged and conducted. Deirdre is a teacher of music, choir and orchestra in St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Castlebar. She has arranged many of the pieces we perform in four part for male voice. which were previously not available to us.  less

The emphasis is on enjoying singing together with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Everything is taught by ear - no written music is used at all. We perform at community events and have members from across the mid-Cornwall area.

Johansen Choirs are truly honored to re...  more The Johansen High School Vocal Music Department provides our students the opportunity to perform great choral literature while entertaining local audiences and performing at a variety of civic and community events. Johansen Choirs are truly honored to represent our community in various capacities as well as having the opportunity to tour throughout California, often giving students their first experience outside of Stanislaus County. We are excited that nearly 60 students will participate in the vocal music program at Johansen High School this year. Last year our choirs participated in multiple festivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a contest this summer and sang on stage with Foreigner at the County Fair. These talented students have been invited to participate in Gallo Center for the Arts first ever a cappella festival in April 2013.  less
