El Códice del Obispo Baltasar Jaime Martínez Compañón "Trujillo del Perú" reúne en el tomo II diecinueve piezas recogidas en los territorios del obispado de Trujillo en 1789. Esta colección se publicó en 1946 con el título de "Folklore Musical del siglo XVIII" conteniendo la reproducción facsimilar de los manuscritos y la transcripción de las letras realizados por Rodolfo Holzmann, César Arróspide de la Flor y Rubén Vargas Ugarte.
