Recorded live on December 14, 2014, at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts in fort Lauderdale, Florida. Performed by the Chamber Singers ensemble of the Girl choir of South Florida. Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Percussion: Bradley Peterson. This indigenous community, often referred to as The Colorados, is located in the northern coastal region of Ecuador. In the face of modernization, music serves as a tool for this group to preserve their history, traditions, and culture. Tsáchilas music-making includes dance, philosophy, spirituality, cultural traditions, and community involvement with a strong connection to nature and respect for the land. By singing this piece, our ensemble is actively helping to protect and promote the Tsáchila community. A portion of the proceeds from our purchase of the score has been sent to the community to assist in the preservation of their culture. TRANSLATION Beautiful woma...    less

Consolacion II CANTUS Festival Brass Alejandro Consolacion, organ Franz Miguel Ramirez, conductor 1. When in our music God is glorified, and adoration leaves no room for pride, it is as though the whole creation cried, Hallelujah! 2. How often, making music, we have found a new dimension in the world of sound, as worship moved us to a more profound Hallelujah! 3. So has the church, in liturgy and song, in faith and love, through centuries of wrong, borne witness to the truth in every tongue: Hallelujah! 4. And did not Jesus sing a Psalm that night when utmost evil strove against the Light? Then let us sing, for whom he won the fight: Hallelujah! 5. Let every instrument be tuned for praise! Let all rejoice who have a voice to raise! And may God give us faith to sing always: Hallelujah! Amen.  less
