Founded in 1989 by Mr. Albert Morland to provide an opportunity for ex-members of The Wonderboom High School Choir to continue singing togeTher after matriculating, it has since evolved to include members from a broader community that come from various backgrounds and professions (including law, accounting, nursing, teaching and IT) and are between 18 and 65 years of age.
The choir has toured and performed across South Africa during The past 30 years and has an established reputation as a warm, friendly and “no-fuss” group with good choral sound who are just as comfortable performing at nursing homes and oTher charitable events as They are performing alongside The best choirs in The world on International stages, for instance, at The 10th World Choir Games in 2018, where They took home a silver medal (79.5%) in The champion’s category for mixed adult choirs.

comes originally from my cantata “The Manchester Magnificat”,
based on Audrey Vaughan’s poems about The religious and social History of The city.
The oratorio was first performed in Manchester CaThedral in 1994.
This psalm forms The climax of The whole cantata and provides an expression of optimism after The
tragedies of The previous sections.
In this “extracted” version, The tragic surroundings of The History remain
in The background and The purebubbling joy of The psalm itself shines forth.
Enjoy The complex rhythms and let your hair down!
This performance by Daniel Shaw's Composer's Choir (based in Connecticut)
is a brilliant rendition of The piece and will, I hope,
encourage oTher church choirs and concert choirs to consider including it in Their repertoire.

The Choir was initially created to unite students with a shared interest in praising The Lord through song. Soon, however, The weekly choir rehearsals became not only a meeting place, but also a refuge for those looking for a non-threatening and empowering environment. Over The years, The Choir has grown to include members of all races and Christian denominations, and celebrates not only The diversity of its members, but also that of its audiences.
