The score blossomed during a fellowship at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, a pastoral setting that nurtured embracing the poem’s vivid landscape. The piano provides a repeating foundation over which the choir playfully evokes the spare text, using variations of the initial theme throughout. There is a contemplative moment midway, then the pulse resumes, concluding with a gleeful repetition of the last line.
"The Red Wheelbarrow is a wonderfully approachable and fun piece of music. The Singers of Inversion had a blast working through the rhythmic lilt and subtly beautiful harmonies, so often found in Rich Campbell's music. The clever musical interpretation brought out the wry humor of the text." Trevor Shaw, Inversion Ensemble AD less

These Singers also perform as soloists. The group would like to promote their vast repertoire of singing ‘a cappella’ (without instruments) pieces from 16th to 21st century and their different styles. As well as being accompanied by orchestral Ensembles, the choir often work with notable composers (Lucian Tuguy, Thibault Maillé, Jean-Christophe Marti…) who help to create the musical pieces. Ranging from traditional concerts to original and artistic experiences, the choir is always seeking to give value to all of the creative initiatives.
In 2006, the choir collaborated with dancers from the Paris Opera House for the ballet of Stéphane Elizabé, “De l'Autre côté à l'amphithéâtre Bastille” (From the other side of the Bastille Amphitheatre). The choir often perform in concerts and festivals in France and abroad (Les sept chapelles en Arts de Guidel, Les V... less

O nata lux de lumine,
Jesu redemptor saeculi,
dignare clemens supplicum
laudes precesque sumere.
Qui carne quondam contegi
dignatus es pro perditis,

O Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
from glen to glen and down hte mountainside
the summer's gone and all the roses falling
it's you, it's you must go and I must bide
but come ye back when summer's in the meadow
or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
it's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
O Danny Boy, O Danny Boy, I love you so
but when ye come and all the flowers are dying
if I am dead, as dead I well may be
ye'll come and find the place where I am lying
and kneel and say an "ave" there for me
and I shall hear, though soft you tread above me
and all my grave will warmer, sweeter be
for you will bend and tell me that you love me
and I shall sleep in peace until you come to me
Recorded at St Pio of Pietrelcina Roman Catholic Church, 103 Washington Ave, Lavallette, NJ 08735-2351

The song is inspired by a famous Chinese Poem "Error" by Zheng Chouyu (1933). The song is arranged with modern vocal effect and technique to express the atmosphere and environment of the poem.
The poem describes a girl who has long been waiting for her lover to come back from far away. The clatter of horse hoofs has given her hope. However, it is just a passer-by, not her lover.
