Stressed-out commuter, the next Sam Smith, worn out parent or shy shower soprano, there's a place here to let your voice out! and, with no auditions and no need to be able to read Music, there are no excuses! PopChoir is fun, relaxed and surprisingly cool (that po-faced image of a Choir couldn't be further from the truth). We sing brilliant songs, with fabulous arrangements and have a great time. In the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning ...  moreIn the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the Choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals. We are a Mixed voice Choir singing a variety of Musical styles including classical, pop, Musicals, sacred and Scottish songs. Members' ages range from teenagers to octogenarians. To date we have recorded over 30 albums and raised over £1.5 million for charity.
