Don't throw away your shot to join us in our milestone 25th season, including songs from Hamilton, Coldplay and Dear Evan Hansen! Are you a legal professional who's looking for a fresh way to connect with your musical interests and like-minded legal eagles while giving back Meaningfully to our community? the 80+ voice New York City Bar Chorus ("CBC") will conduct a limited number of auditions (brief, private and low-pressure), with primary focus on baritones, basses and high sopranos, for our fall 2017 cycle. We rehearse about three Tuesday evenings per month, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, in midtown Manhattan to produce what listeners describe as a professional-quality sound, spanning musical theater, Jazz, pop/rock, gospel and classical styles. He had retired 12 years previously. What was once a packed out mass full of joy and prayer, families and young couples, singles and religious, was now a quieter mass with no choir and I saddened by this. I offered my services as a singer and musician to coMe and provide music for the 5:30 mass and within a few short weeks I returned to the place I consider my spiritual hoMe. I had not purposely set out to start a choir but people began to approach Me with a desire to sing and it was a need within the community I was not going to Ignore. On the 12th Dec 2008 the Jes Gospel Choir was birthed with 5 singers and Me & it was a wonderful experience and we received a very warm welcoMe. In the past years, Chamber choir Orfej has received a number of awards, which places them among the more prominent Slovenian choirs. Orfej has proven its high level of vocal performance in April 2010 at the prestigious Slovene national choir competition ‘Naša Pesem’ (i. e. ‘Our Song’). the choir scored 93 points, received the gold award, and the second prize in the category ‘mixed choirs’.

It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that bridges cultures and unites faith traditions. the project won an ABC award in December 2009 at the Royal Society for the Arts and was cited by the judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people together through a shared Passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has perforMed at a variety of venues across its hoMe borough and beyond. Members coMe from all walks of life and all across Southwark.
