It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director from 1995 to 2023. It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director from 1995 to 2023. Our current classical Musical Director is Matthew Thomas Morgan, and our current jazz Musical Director is Jill Jarman.
the group comprises two classical Choirs – an auditioned Chamber Choir and a much larger non-auditioned Oratorio Choir; and two jazz Choirs – an auditioned mixed Jazz Ensemble and a larger non-auditioned all-female Jazz Choir. It also offers two different singing classes to meet the needs of beginners, intermediate and the more experienced singer.

the release of their first CD Qui creavit celum, celebrated the Stairwell Carollers' 20th anniversary in 1997. In 2000 they released I Saw a Swete Semly Syght and in 2003 Mourning Dove. their very first madrigal CD, Audite nova, was released in October of 2006 and their fourth Xmas CD Laudemus cum armonia in 2009. 2012 marked the release of their first CD of sacred songs from the Renaissance, Cantate Domino, their fifth Xmas CD O magnum mysterium is now available for purchase.
Winner of the 2010 OMFA provincial competition, they are ranked amongst the best of Canada's Choirs.
