The Choir, which has a membership of around 30 voices, was formed in 2007 by its Musical Director, Sheila Farmer. A Cappella is a touring Choir, having visited Prague and France, and hoping to make a tour to Spain in the near future. The Choir rehearses every other Saturday morning, between 10 a.m. and noon.

It is often asked to participate in important European events of which the most recent was the enlargement of the EU to 27 member states. ...  moreThe Choir, composed of over 20 nationalities, is proud to reflect the multicultural character of Europe in Brussels. It is often asked to participate in important European events of which the most recent was the enlargement of the EU to 27 member states. The Choir frequently performs with renowned European symphony orchestras and soloists in Brussels and in many capitals and other cities across Europe.  

The Choir was first formed in 1962 as Aberystwyth Post office Gleemen under the direction of James Morse. During the fifty plus years of its lifetime it has benefited from the leadership of five further conductors, David Griffiths, Margaret Maddock, Len Williams, Carol Davies and our present Director of Music, Alwyn Evans. The Choir has travelled widely over the years with tours in Europe, United States and Canada besides engagements throughout Wales and England. Our concert venues have varied from village halls to national auditoria and great cathedrals. In the Eisteddfod field we have won two National first prizes plus several seconds and others. In 2012 we celebrated our 50th anniversary. In 2015 we again sang at the 1000 voices at The ROYAL ALBERT HALL London and with tenor Russell Watson during his UK tour  less

The School Choir itself has, over the years, gone from strength to strength despite the need ...  moreThe idea for our Vocal Group goes back to the musical notions and ideas that we learned over the years as part of the Choir of the Liceo “A. Mariotti”, Perugia. The School Choir itself has, over the years, gone from strength to strength despite the need for constant renewal caused by the inevitable “turnover” as new students took the places of those who left. However, after this experience, which has included many concerts in the region, participations in Choir Festivals in Italy and artistic exchanges with youth Choirs from Germany, Hungary, Spain, Denmark and the Czech Republic, our desire to continue singing and, of course, the joy which singing together gave us all made it obvious that the time had clearly come to establish a group which could allow us to continue our musical journey together. In its 30 year history, the Choir has sung in the most prestigious venues, not only in the UK but also all over Europe, forming strong bonds of friendship with several Choirs from overseas. The Choir continues to grow in strength and has won awards for contributions to choral music and Cornish culture.
