Their sound combines rock, acapella, electronic, ambient and chant influences. Paradisum was created by Richard Childress, a Chicago-born professional singer, arranger and manager who brought together five talented and versatile young singers to record a few demo tracks. This attracted some attention from a veteran A & R professional, resulting in Paradisum being invited to perform in a private showcase in London before execs from Universal and Sony/BMG Records. The band is now in a new exciting collaboration with the brilliant tv and film composer Philip Sheppard. New covers and original sings will be out on Soundcloud and iTunes early in 2012.  less

In addition, they hail from eleven different states in the Union: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and, of course, Washington, D.C. The group actually began in October 2005 recording a small project of a cappella hymns (The Hymn Project) as a Christmas gift for one of their mothers. The "plena" became very popular among sugar-cane workers at plantations in the coastal regions. This arrangement reflects a more modern interpretation of the plena with the use of the piano as accompaniment, taking rhythmic motives from salsa rythm, and the voices in the interlude imitating the trumpets and double bass from a salsa band.

The Chorus sings a wide repertoire of music drawn from classical, pop, musical theatre and folk as well as the more traditional welsh hymns that are often expected! ​Since it was established, the choir has raised many thousands of pounds for charitable causes over the years.​ We rehearse at the CrAven Arms Community Centre every Monday evening at 7:30pm, with the exception of bank holidays, January, and August.  less

This work reflects some of the history of Manchester as seen through the eyes of local poet Audrey Vaughan, including its origins around the river Irwell, the original monastery which became Manchester Cathedral, the industrial revolution, the Peterloo Massacre, and the singing of church and cathedral choirs up to the present day. We Rise Again is by Leon Dubinsky, who grew up in Sydney and now lives with his wife and children on a seaside property in Cape Breton's Englishtown. Written in 1984 as a hopeful tune for the musical The Rise and Follies of Cape Breton Island during a severe economic downturn, it begins: When the wAves roll on over the waters And the ocean cries We look to our sons and daughters To explain our lives As if a child could tell us why That as sure as the sunrise As sure as the sea As sure as the wind in the trees We rise again in the faces of our children We rise again in the wAves out on the ocean And we rise again....
