Our mission is ‘to enrich lives and influence culture by performing music from different cultures and periods at the highest level of artistic excellence.’ We are poised to be the leading choir in Africa within the next 5 years. The choir displays artistic excellence through detailed attention to the major aspects of performance including the ensemble, singing, choreography, among others. Impacting society with our music and performances is very dear to us and we will embark of life-changing social impact programs and activities in 2018 and beyond. Our choir will be built on a commitment to professionalism, excellence and social impact. The objective was to bring about musical performances...  moreThe LAZ EKWUEME Chorale was founded in October 1974 with a view to getting together in a small choir the best available and professionally trained singers in Lagos, the then Federal Capital of Nigeria. The objective was to bring about musical performances (of choral works by foreign and Nigerian composers) of sufficiently high standard for international consumption, within the limitations of national resources. The Chorale which has grown in size to over 100 singers has given numerous concerts in Lagos and other towns in Nigeria, including Aba, Abakaliki, Abeokuta, Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Eket, Enugu, Ibadan, Ife, Nsit Atai, Oko, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Umuahia and Uyo. It has performed many times on Radio and Television and has featured on many State, National and International functions. It was the nucleus of the Nigerian National Choir for FESTAC 77.
