Pękiel served the court in Warsaw from about 1633. After the SWedish invasion of Poland in 1655 he then moved to WaWel Cathedral Chapel in Kraków, where he was Kapellmeister. 29 of Pękiel's works survive, mostly in manuscript. The musicologist Bartłomiej Gembicki divides these into two stages; early baroque (Warsaw) and church music in the style of prima pratica (Kraków). He wrote the only Polish church oratorio Audite mortales, on the topic of The Last Judgement. Magnum nomen Domini Magnum nomen domini Emanuel, quod annuntiatum est per Gabriel, hodie apparuit, apparuit in Israel per Mariam virginem in Bethlehem. Eia, eia. O Concerto de Natal “A Little Jazz Mass” de Bob Chilcott tem como protagonistas o Coro Pactis e os Wave Jazz Ensemble que subiram ao palco do Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Heroísmo, no dia 20 de dezembro, para mostrar a articulação de dois p...  moreO Concerto de Natal “A Little Jazz Mass” de Bob Chilcott tem como protagonistas o Coro Pactis e os Wave Jazz Ensemble que subiram ao palco do Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Heroísmo, no dia 20 de dezembro, para mostrar a articulação de dois projetos distintos numa toada jazz em ambiente natalício. Trata-se de uma peça com cinco andamentos, escrita para o coro infantil New Orleans Children, aquando da participação no Crescent City Festival de New Orleans, em 2009. Fazem ainda parte da peça alguns clássicos de Natal como "Zat You Santa Claus", popularizado por Louis Armstrong; "Little Drummer Boy" ou "Silent Night" com arranjos próprios do quinteto. Enquanto o Coro Pactis tem Fátima Gonçalves na direção musical, o Wave Jazz Ensemble integra os músicos Rui Melo, Paulo Cunha, Paulo Borges, Nuno Pinheiro e Antonella Barletta.
