The Choir's mission is to nurture Bulgarian talent and instill a love for choral art among young individuals aged 16 to 35. It honors Bulgaria's choral traditions while occasionally embracing contemporary trends in choral performance, employing techniques like body percussion and mise-en-scène to enhance their vocal craft. Founded as Pastoral - female chamber Choir in 1987, nowadays the ensemble carries the name of its originator Irina Stiglich. Тhe Choir's repertoire encompasses (or includes) works by both Bulgarian and international composers, spanning eras from the Renaissance to modern times. They've embarked on concert tours across the country and abroad participating in international choral festivals and competitions. The Choir is truly representative of the force with a...  moreThe Avon and Somerset Constabulary Male Voice Choir was formed in 1974 following the amalgamation of the Bath and Somerset, Bristol and the South Gloucester part of the Gloucestershire Constabulary. The Choir is truly representative of the force with a membership consisting almost entirely of serving and retired police officers, serving and retired members of the support staff and the special constabulary. We want to maintain the tradition of choral singing in a pleasant social environment and we do so under the professional leadership and tuition of our musical director Alison Howell, accompanist Julie Payne and deputy accompanist Gemma Leach. We also want to share that musical tradition with the community, raise funds for local organisations and to act as ambassadors for the force. Away from the formal concerts however there is nothing the members like better than to sing and impromptu performances have taken place on cross channel ferries, in motorway services and in the odd pub or two.
