Since its early days, it has performed compositions from different musical periods spanning from the Renaissance to current times. Nowadays, it mostly interprets pieces by contemporary composers. GVA has done concerts at the main churches, museums and theaters in Buenos Aires, as well as in Mendoza, Mercedes, Tandil and Capilla del Señor. Abroad, GVA has been part of: 2009 - 45 Barcelona International Days of Chorus Singing. Spain. 2011 - Cantus Salisburgenesis. Salzburg, Austria. Choral Festival Saint-Maximin. It is available through my website at http://cschurch.net/en/compositions/Choir/o-magnum-mysterium/ and will be published by Carus-Verlag in July 2016. Program Note: It is difficult to follow with (yet) another setting of this famous text that has inspired so many composers over the centuries. In my attempt, “O magnum mysterium” returns three times after the first statement, in a similar gesture but each time shifted to a new tonality with even more flats. Thus, the listener gets ever more pulled into this magnificient text until the piece culminates in a jubilant “Alleluia” in C-major, having come full-circle back to very first harmony we heard. Under the musical direction of Kevin Fox (UK) and the baton of house conductor Erez Tal, Vocalocity performs mostly original arrangements of a range of cutting-edge rock/pop/jazz music. The singers, all of whom come from a background in modern a cappella, range in age but are mostly around their 20s-30s. After a fruitful year, including 3 full-house concerts and several festivals, working with leading acapella masters such as Line Groth and Eric Bosio, collaborating with leading arrangers, composers and artists and recording for the upcoming Swingle Singers CD, we are looking forward 2015 with a visit to Aarhus Vocal Festival and creating some new recording and video clips of our own.
