Also winning ...  moreIn the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the Choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals. We are a registered charity and normally raise many thousands of pounds for both local and national charities through our concerts. We have links with Choirs in Italy and Germany and we meet with these Choirs every couple of years for a Musical event that we call Harmony in Europe

Alongside classical Music sung in Latin, Italian and French, its repertoire highlights the Music of Jewish liturgical and folk traditions in a variety of styles and arrangements as well as Music from around the world. Songs in Hebrew, Yemenite, Yiddish , Ladino, English and Arabic bring to life the different backgrounds of the Ensemble's members.
