Since 1994 it has been directed by popular Chorus Director, Christopher Bell, and has expanded its membership to almost 300, with members aged from eight right up to eighteen. It has built up a considerable reputation singing under some of the world's most distinguished conductors and appearing on radio and television.

We as a Choir are proud to be mentioned in Under Milk Wood, when the question is asked, “How’s the Tenors in Dowlais” One of our favourite songs has to be the Rev Eli Jenkins’ Sunset Poem from Under Milk Wood. We are resident at St. Matthew's parish church in Chapel Allerton. We rehearsal three times a month, on a Friday evening and sing four services a month, including Evensong on the first Sunday of every month. We also often host come and sing days and various workshops, our two most recent projects have been on Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri and Mozart's Requiem.
