World Choir Games Graz 2008 sind der größte Wettbewerb in der Geschichte der Chormusik. Es waren rund 441 Ensembles aus 93 Nationen dabei. Nach Graz waren auch Die Sängerinnen und Sänger unseres Gospelchores Rejoice mit ihrem Leiter, unserem Kirchenmusiker und Küster Roland Orthaus gefahren. Und sie siegten! Rejoice holte eine von nur 6 Silber-Medaillen, Die an Deutschland vergeben wurden. Für Rejoice bedeutet das, dass sie "Deutscher Meister" und "Vize-Europameister" in der Kategorie „Gospel/Spiritual" geworden sind.  less

Each Funky Voices rehearsal is taught by highly qualified and experienced Music tutors. Sandra Colston BA Hons (Musical Director) arranges the Music to suit the choir members, and to bring the Music up to date and possible for a choir to sing. The Sound With passions for vocal harmonies, and personal influences being likes of; Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight, Michael Jackson. The aim is to bring a similar vocal energy to Funky Voices… From Emotional rich harmonies to Feel-good dance tracks, our repertoire includes, including “Take That”, “Michael Jackson”, “Queen”, “Supertramp”, making it an exciting and enjoyable experience for everyone. Die fließenden Rhythmen in Christina Georgina Rossettis Gedicht führen wie von selbst zu einer melodischen Vertonung. Die Sopran- und Tenorstimmen wechseln sich ab, indem sie jeweils Die MeloDie der Strophen 1 bzw. 2 singen, während Die anderen Stimmen beschwingt und jazzig begleiten.
