Led by British composer and choral director Benjamin Thiele-Long, the Choir’s repertoire blends early and renaissance European sacred choral music with modern spiritual and secular polyphony from around the world. Stellarum is founded on the principles of encouraging amateur musicianship of all levels. Our aim is to provide a safe and encouraging space to develop and learn a challenging and engaging repertoire while delighting audiences with a beautiful, evocative, and technically excellent performance.  less

ANÚNA, is a unique and beautiful instrument that explores the stories of ordinary people, saints and scholars Within the songs are universal stories that are told through the landscape, the philosophy and the mythology of Ireland and beyond. Anúna created the vocal ambience of Riverdance (1994-1996), achieved a Top 10 placing on the U.K. Singles Charts while remaining at Number 1 on the Irish singles charts for eighteen weeks. In 2012 they appeared as the "Voices of Hell"on the video game Diablo 3 [Blizzard] gaining a Game Audio Network Guild nomination for the Best Original Choral performance in February 2013. As a composer, I tend to lean toward and connect to slow and emotional pieces. I have always been someone who strives to convey emotional complexity, therefore writing an up-tempo piece had to be purposeful and meaningful. The inspiration for this score comes from the first time I was able to hear my son's heartbeat during an ultrasound. It was a magical and exciting moment that I will never forget; however, leading up to that specific moment there was an element of tension. Six months prior to hearing my son's heartbeat, my wife and I found ourselves in a very different situation with the outcome of an ultrasound. We arrived at the hospital excited to meet our child, only to discover we had silently miscarried. I had never felt so deflated and aimless in one sudden moment. It was as if I was a boat, drifting, with no direction in my life. Fast forward to this ultrasound with our soon-to-be son. You can imagine the excitement and fear we bo...    less

He decided to call this one-man Choir the dwsChorale. The range is bottom bass D to top alto e. Most recordings were done between 2005 and 2009. Only time will tell whether the dwsChorale will be revived, but David keeps composing anyway, so who knows....
