We perform to a high standard and have a friendly but hardworking atmosphere. No audition required but some previous experiece, past or present, and the ability to read music can be very helpful. At present we are keen to recruit new members to all sections SATB and are particularly keen to enroll new bass singers. Over the years, the choir has been led by many talented co...  moreRSU choir Rīga was established in 1951 and for almost 20 years (1967-1986) its conductor was the accomplished professor Jānis Dūmiņš. In 1968, the choir was awarded the status of a National Choir. Over the years, the choir has been led by many talented conductors, e.g. Centis Kriķis, Kārlis Beinerts, Edvīns and Inga Dziļums, Ints Teterovskis, etc. Today the conductors of the choir are Evita Taranda and Zane Zilberte; choir master is Roberts Hansons. The repertoire of the choir varies, as performances include all sorts of music from the time of renaissance to modern music or music written by contemporary artists, e.g. Paul McCartney's oratorio "Ecce Cor Meum" or Czech composer Petr Eben's music "De Circuito Aeterno". The choir has performed in many countries and it has received many awards and international recognition in international competitions. Each 3 weeks we learn a new song together and perform 4-5 times per year. Texts are available in Hebrew and in Phonetics, we translate and learn to pronounce and sing together, and have an archive of all the songs and the various harmonies recorded separately to make it easier to learn and join. It's a lot of fun. Hebrew Groove is a young, contemporary, Hebrew vocal group based in Amsterdam. The repertoire consists of Hebrew pop songs from all periods, retouched with the groovy piano and close harmony vocal arrangements of conductor Noam Vazana. Hebrew Groove has performed at: Amsterdam MuseumNacht, Paradiso Choir Festival, Salaam-Shalom solidarity event for Charlie Hebdo, Namen en Nummers, Koor en More Festival and more.  less

The group is formerly known as Chorus Leviticus, from the word "Frisco" it means San Francisco Del Monte, it is a small town founded by our patron San Pedro Bautista during 1590, the group is comprised of mostly students, out of school youth, young professionals and music enthusiast from the Parish Youth and Music Ministry of Archdiocesan Shrine of Santuario De San Pedro Bautista in Quezon City,which is also known as one of the oldest church in the Philippines and the provincial house of the Franciscans. As our patron saint San Pedro Bautista, a Franciscan missionary, a saint who lived in our community, and who was the first missionary to teach liturgical music to local children and organized church choirs in the Philippines.
