Las Amarillas (The Yellow Birds) represented an unpredictable and ever-changing aspect of the 'wind' section for The Vocal Art Ensemble's fifth anniversary GODAI - Choral Music Summoning the Five Ancient Elements concerts in May 2013.

Himig Batingaw was founded in March of 1979 by group of graduating students of Imus Institute to sing for that year's baccalaureate mass. In the first few years of the choir's existence, they conducted rehearsals at the church belfry; hence the name Himig (melody) and Batingaw (peal of bells) was born. The choir is very influential in the rise and development of choral music in the parish and having introduced new pieces for liturgical use most of which are composed or arranged for the group and having graduated noted local musicians from its ranks. The choir began to tread new ground under the directorship of Mr. Edward Gerodias in the late 1980's then on to Mr. Rey Roland Bergado in the late 1990's, both sought after pianists. This period witnessed a string of successful concerts, and a Grand Prize at the first Paskuhan sa Imus Choral Competition. They were under the tu...  moreEast Rand Male Symphony was established in August 1990 by the members of the then Kenneth Masekela SSS Boys Choir after winning the TUATA National School Choir Competition in the category of Boys Choirs for the 4th successive year. They were under the tutelage of Mojalefa Motloung. The choir is made up of members from the East Rand which is now affectionately known as Ekurhuleni. The young men who established the choir in 1990 are now responsible men taking their place in their communities. We currently have over 35 members of which ages range from 20 to 50. We are still under the baton of Mojalefa Motloung who also forms part of our Conductors Forum.  less

Undertakes to be a space for youth have contact with concert choral music. The group sings a diverse and technically challenging repertoire, exploring different sounds and new musical languages. In his repertoire are works by composers as Janequin, Scarlatti, Bach, Beethoven, Whitacre, Widmer, Stroope, Jobim and Ronaldo Miranda. The styles range from classical to popular, jazz, spirituals, sacred music, Brazilian Popular Music, opera and musicals. Since its formation is conducted by Altamiro Bernardes and has Lana Bernardes as assistant conductor. The choir members receive training in Vocal technique, music reading, perception, music history, harmony and musical aesthetics, always in the context of choral activity and a language for young people.
