Several months previous, a number of likeminded individuals began to visualise the formation of a Male Choir for the Lower Llynfi Valley, something which this area of the County Borough of Bridgend, South Wales lacked. Following lengthy discussions with a number of experienced and well respected Choristers, we came up with some basic philosophies. • Keep the Choir to a manageable size • Take our music to the community-at-large • Establish ourselves as a quality musical group • Encourage less experienced Choristers to grow in ability and musicality • Share our joy in singing One thing was fundamental, and that was to keep the Choir `Ego-Free` their mantra being ‘Leave your Egos at the door as it’s the music that matters’. Their desire was to form a group in which lasting friendships would grow and be nurtured, with an aim to bond and enjoy singing, and at the same time, perform to the community, raise money for charity and have lots of pleasure doing so. We uphold the tradition and art of male choral singing through the camaraderie of choral membership and in entertaining our audiences. We give our own concerts several times a year in Norwich and beyond, as well as appear at events by invitation. We were Special Guests of 'The People's Soprano' Rebecca Newman at her 2012 and Spring 2016 tour Norwich appearances and we put up a team to challenge the Eggheads for quiz supremacy! We also hold Open Rehearsals at the beginning of each singing season when we invite adult gentlemen to see whether male choral singing is for them, or just to see our singing men at work! We rehearse at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. We aim to unite and represent our community through our joy of singing. The Choir has over sixty singers rehearsing each week and the main focus in rehearsals is preparation for performances. These performances can take the form of concerts and appearances in festivals and other events in the local community.  

A fun community Choir that meets on a Friday morning 10am - 12noon at Hunston Village Hall, Chichester, West Sussex.

Many of our singers are school music teachers and voice teachers. We perform a wide variety of music from classical and broadway to pop and vocal jazz. The Choir was founded in 2011 by friends who have spent their lives teaching others to perform, but whom rarely get the chance to sing anymore. We sing Original compositions by Juliet Russell who conducts the Choir and is also our solo performer. Aside from Juliet's original material we sing a mix of traditional Gospel, African and Eastern European Music. The Choir consists of male and female singers of all ages who simply love to sing. No auditions required and no need to read sheet music we learn by ear. New songs are added every term to our repertoire and we perform regularly at everything from weddings to local festivals.  less
