The group meets every Wednesday evening in the gym at the Maudsley Hospital, 115 Denmark Hill SE5 8AZ between 6-7pm. Our patron is the wonderful Mary King.

When Odwa Mvunge return to his birth Community in 2012, after completing his music education studies at Nelson Mandela University, not much has changed.
There still was no place in Zolani for the youth to express themselves in cultural activities that was not offered at school nor in the Community. After school the youth would loiter around without direction. This lead to the formation of the Zolani Youth choir. The basic idea and purpose of the Choir is to equip youth of our Community with basic music skills.
The Choir consists of 25 scholars from different schools who are between the ages of 12 and 26 years. These scholars have no professional training or background in formal music, but have proven to have a passion and love for the art. Inclusive is the word which probably best describes Open Arts Community Choir. It features people with disabilites and those without, from every section of the Community in Northern Ireland. The age range is extensive, from seventeen to over seventy but most importantly members are united by their love of singing.
The choir is from Belfast Northern Ireland and is conducted by Beverley Whyte.

Last July, over 100 BIG Sing members flash mobbed the Maldon Tesco Store and the YouTube video has had over 16,000 views, raising money for Cancer Research UK. As well as Community events, The BIG Sing have hosted their own sold out shows in Essex and have many more coming up this year!
As The BIG Sing grows we are continuing to reach out to more people of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to unite people with uplifting music and have seen the choir members grow in confidence, experience the thrill of performing on stage, make new friends and belong to a new choir family. We are dedicated to quality performances, music education, and communi... moreThe Virginia Beach Chorale is one of southeastern Virginia’s longest-tenured performing arts ensemble and has been a foundational member of the Hampton Roads arts Community since 1958. We are dedicated to quality performances, music education, and Community service. As the resident choral ensemble of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, we perform a varied repertoire from classics to Broadway and rock to jazz in two main concerts, one during the Christmas season and one in the spring, with additional benefit and collaborative performances throughout the year. Scheduled auditions for new members are held in August and January of each year.
Our mission is to enhance the cultural and musical life of the Community and to provide an opportunity for those interested in choral music to participate in these musical endeavors.
