The poem has a clear Structure (verse – chorus), and the vocal parts are kept Straightforward. The Striking piece contains some jazzy chords and humorously unexpected twiSts. This work won the firSt prize in the 2013 Composition Competition of the European Choral Association in the frame of the feStival Youth Choirs in Movement.

Performed by Sandnes musikkskoles ungdomskor (SMUK) in a CD recording from 1995 labelled "Feel good med SMUK". The Choir has since then changed it's name to today's VIVA, Sandnes Kulturskolekor corresponding to the School changing it's name.

We have taken part in many choral competitions around Ireland with Success in New Ross, Arklow, Navan, Sligo and Cork. In 2013 we joined Wide Open Music in a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, which was received with great enthusiasm. In the same year we also joined Opera Theatre Company for two performances in their tour to promote young Irish soloiSts. In recognition of the millennium year and augmented by local Choirs from around the country, we performed the Verdi Requiem to great acclaim in both Bray and Arklow. This performance, however was part of the memorial service in St Martin in the Fields, for Ruth Rudge, who was a very diStinguished and lovely lady, and also my firSt boss. The ladies of the Occasional Choir, whose beginnings were as the Madrigal Choir at WeSt Heath, which I co-founded, all those years ago, are the singers, including one of the six that took part in the very firSt performance. I am conducting, and Penny Walker, who now directs the Choir is accompanying.
