We rehearse once a week on Wednesdays near Great World City and perform at local venues and AWA events. We are a happy bunch who love to sing and would welcome you into our International Choir. There are no official auditions, we simply assess your range for the group. The Choir, which started its work with the conductor Gökhan Kalender, is a women's Choir founded with the belief in the polyphonic talisman of the Female voice and its musical universe. It set out to spread the interaction between different languages and cultures by expressing modern Turkish and world melodies with polyphonic music, and to perform on national and international platforms. It carries out both an academic and educational approach to work. FeminAnka, which met its audience at events such as Hacettepe State Conservatory-World Choir Day, Impact Hub Social Entrepreneurs New Year's Market, and Hello New Year Concert, continues to work at the Çankaya Municipality Muammer Sun Music Workshop in Ankara under the umbrella of the Choir Educators Association.  less

Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of othe...  moreThe Richmond Singers is a 55 voice women’s Choir which began performing in 1971. Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of others”. During our musical season (September – June), the Choir practices on Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 PM at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond. In addition to our weekly practices we usually plan one or two workshops with a choral clinician, as well as evenings with guest directors. We have two major performances per year, a Family Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May. We are very involved with our community and, by giving benefit concerts, help to raise funds for other organizations such as the Richmond Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Foundation and Tim Horton’s Kids Camps.
