The group was set up to perform exciting vocal material at a variety of events, and to give men and women who love singing, the platform to get involved in a fun and sociable musical experience. The Voice Of The Town family has now grown and not only do we have our Choirs in Newcastle and Edinburgh, but we now have Choirs in Glasgow and Birmingham.

Our aim was to capture a serious English Boys C...  moreAs part of the Vocal Art Ensemble's "Inkspell--Choral Music Inspired by Masters of Poetry" concerts in May, 2012, this piece for treble chorus and piano by Jere Hutchinson sets e.e. cummings' whimsical poem. Our aim was to capture a serious English Boys Choir poise while making the most of the poems playful spookiness, so we elicited help from the men of the chorus to try and 'frighten' the women singing.  

We are an award-winning chorus, who gather weekly for rehearsals, fun and camaraderie. We perform at annual shows, community events and competitions, and several members are also in quartets. We perform at annual shows, community events and competitions, and several members are also in quartets. TuneTown Show Chorus puts a contemporary spin on traditional barbershop singing and has won four Sweet Adelines regional chorus competitions to go on to represent a multi-state region in international contests.

Phoenix have performed around the world, in the USA, Canada, Holland and Ireland as well as all over Britain in world renowned venues such as the Birmingham Symphony Hall, Royal Albert Hall and The Sage in Gateshead.

The ensemble has performed successfully in major music festivals in Israel and abroad. Their resume includes hundreds of performances in the most prominent venues in Israel (‘The Israeli Opera House‘, ‘Binyanei Hauma‘, ‘Tzavta‘ etc...) and collaborations with various artists and ensembles, including: ‘The Vocal Octet‘ , ‘The Kolan quartet‘, the singer Hanan Yovel and ‘The Haifa Symphony Orchestra'. They have received media exposure on radio and television programs and were featured in a special television program celebrating the Millennium year which was broadcasted to 60 countries worldwide. In 2004, the ensemble was invited to a concert tour in Germany and was warmly received by the critics.
