Open to anyone (age 8+ to adult) with a love of musical theatre, the group works on excelling in musical theatre singing, good vocal techniques and harmony work. Movement and/or acting plays a part, with plenty of opportunities for solo and small group singing if desired.

A friendly and sociable choir, we number some70 singers drawn mostly from the Barnes, Sheen and Richmond areas. We perform mainly, but not exclusively, cLassic... Lass="view_more_link" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="$(this).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moreLass="view_more" style="display:none;">The Barnes choir, originally known as the Barnes Music Club Choir, was established in 1953/4. A friendly and sociable choir, we number some70 singers drawn mostly from the Barnes, Sheen and Richmond areas. We perform mainly, but not exclusively, cLassical choral works, including those of local composers such as Howard Goodall and Gustav Holst, and we occasionally commission new works, most recently from Russell Hepplewhite. We perform three concerts each season at local venues and we also sing at local charitable events at Christmas, and at summer fêtes, and we raise funds for local cancer support charity The Mulberry Centre at our Christmas Carol concert. We offer an open Come and Sing day each season and arrange overseas singing tours, our most recent being a trip to Lisbon last autumn.
