The choir was started back in January 2007 by Founder Grenville Jones. Grenville stepped down at the end of 2022 as conductor and his son, Laurie Jones, has taken on the leadership role as Musical Director. The ‘Boys from Bath’ are a 60 voice auditioned choir who have entertained audiences across the UK and toured Europe and the world performing in some of the most prestigious concert venues. In 2008 the choir achieved national acclaim when they reached the finals of a Saturday evening BBC television choir competition ‘Last choir Standing’. The choir sing a wide range of music from traditional, pop, gospel, musicals and secular music. The years of 2006 and 2008 were particularly successful for the group, as the 4th choir Olympics in China and the 5th choir Olympics in Austria brought twice the Olympic Championship of All-male choirs to Pécs. In 2014, the Pécs men fascinated the jury and audience again – resulting an absolute first prize in the Beijing International Competition for choirs. As a result of the high artistic reputation, the chorus has been invited to make tours in Europe as well as in the US, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and China. We uphold the tradition and art of male choral singing through the camaraderie of choral membership and in entertaining our audiences. We give our own concerts several times a year in Norwich and beyond, as well as appear at events by invitation. We were Special Guests of 'The People's Soprano' Rebecca Newman at her 2012 and Spring 2016 tour Norwich appearances and we put up a team to challenge the Eggheads for quiz supremacy! Ably assisted by, now ...  moreThe Toronto Welsh male Voice choir (TWMVC) was established in 1995 gathering together a group of like-minded individuals of Welsh heritage sought to kindle the spirit of traditional Welsh male voice singing in their adopted country. Ably assisted by, now emeritus, music director David Low, the founding members saw their numbers grow to a membership of sixty choristers. the choir continues to grow musically under the direction of William Woloschuk and accompanist Matthew Coons. Although many of the current members still lay claim to Welsh connections, the TWMVC now has members from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. The TWMVC proudly draws on the great Welsh tradition of singing hymns and songs born of the mountains and valleys of Wales. At the same time it emphasizes a multicultural context in its broad repertoire which also includes spirituals; operatic arias, Canadian folk songs as well as Broadway show tunes and contemporary music.
