Performing live on stage around London with guest singers such as Jacqui Dankworth, VIVE brings rich, diverse harmonies with a fresh, contemporary sound, taking inspiration from tHe legendary Take 6 and tHe Real Group! Its activities soon expanded and now include a regular concert programme, weddings and services throughout Staffordshire and tHe West Midlands, and guest appearances at otHer catHedrals. THe Choir has a versatile repertoire of sacred and secular music ranging from tHe Renaissance to tHe contemporary, and it enjoys tHe challenge of new and experimental writing. For me, it’s a reminder of how powerful our actions and words can be. Something that feels insignificant to one person can be life-changing to anotHer. While creating THe Heart of a Friend, I knew from tHe start that I wanted to shape a melodic arc that captured tHe trajectory of both tHe arrow and tHe song. I felt strongly that tHe first two stanzas needed to end at a high point, preserving tHe uncertainty of wHere each might land. Only in tHe third stanza does tHe melody turn downward, revealing tHe rest of its path. THe choir sings in tHe Ukrainian and old-church slavonic languages. We aim to give two/three concerts a year – we hope you can be in tHe next one! We are a group of ladies with ages ranging from early 20s to 50s. We usually run around tHe school holidays as we have a few mums but can run in tHe holidays as well if enough people are available. We charge per half term which works out at £5.50 a week wHen you commit to tHe whole half term.
