A joyous exclamation which is set at a wedding, where the groom is being asked: "Where are you hiding the bride". Traditional Sesotho South African traditional music is known for their movement and dancing in their songs, and the UP Youth Choir accentuates this by highlighting the movement in their performance.

It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director from 1995 to 2023. Our current classical Musical Director is Matthew Thomas Morgan, and our current jazz Musical Director is Jill Jarman. The group comprises two classical choirs – an auditioned Chamber Choir and a much larger non-auditioned Oratorio Choir; and two jazz choirs – an auditioned mixed Jazz Ensemble and a larger non-auditioned all-female Jazz Choir. It also offers two different singing classes to meet the needs of beginners, intermediate and the more experienced singer. The Addison Singers normally operate on three 10-week terms (the same as the schools) with a concert or recital at the end of each term. The choir is made up of undergraduate and graduate students auditioned from all facult...  moreThe Choir is a group of talented students who enjoy making music together. it allows you to make lifelong friendships and contacts, and build crucial teamwork skills. The choir is made up of undergraduate and graduate students auditioned from all faculties and grades and performs several concerts every year, and at important University ceremonies. Participation always begins in the Fall semester, and continues all the way to graduation commencement in June. The choir performed in joint concerts with choirs from Duke University, Yale University, Harvard University, Perugia University and Missouri Drury University.  less
