The Choir begins by emulating...  more“The Wind” was commissioned by the Organization of American Kodály Educators as a result of Rich Campbell winning the Ruth Boshkoff Composition Prize. The text is from Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1885 A Child’s Garden of Verses. The Choir begins by emulating the sound of the wind, and then sings directly to the wind, describing the many things the wind does while questioning just who or what the wind is. The piece, inspired by Kodály’s philosophy, develops a folk-like melody in a modern context. The rhythmic piano accompaniment keeps the piece bouncing brightly until its exciting conclusion. Entre los estrenos realizados por el co...  moreEn agosto de 1995 surge el Coro de Cámara Zahir creado por su actual director Diego Boero con el objetivo principal de estrenar y promover la difusión del repertorio coral de compositores argentinos contemporáneos. Entre los estrenos realizados por el Coro, se destacan: Kyrie de Andrés Milá Prats y Ave María de Juan Guerra, presentadas en el Salón Dorado del Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, durante 2003, año en el que también se estrena el Kyrie de Gastón Sznajderhaus. En 2005, el Coro realiza la primera presentación de la obra en tres movimientos para Coro y orquesta El jardín y el pantano del compositor Juan Carlos Figueiras, en el marco del ciclo Grandes Conciertos que tuvo lugar en el auditorio de la Facultad de Derecho de la UBA. El 24 de abril de 2007, el Coro estrena, en la Catedral de Buenos Aires, el Stabat Mater de Gustavo Fedel para Coro y conjunto de cámara, cuya interpretación ha sido grabada en estudio y editada durante ese mismo año. Cantate is a mixed-voice youth Choir based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. It is open to all young singers, whatever their background and musical upbringing. Cantate comprises three Choirs for children and young people which all perform to an exceptionally high standard. Cantate performed at the Royal Albert Hall, both in the BBC and Schools Prom Concerts, the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican, the Guildhall London, 10 Downing Street, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi, St Mark’s Basilica in Venice, and in many local and regional venues. Cantate has gained many national and international awards. In 2008 we achieved international acclaim at the world’s largest choral event – the World Choir Games in Graz, Austria – in which over 430 Choirs from some 90 countries competed. Cantate won gold and silver medals, and was the only UK Choir to win a gold medal in the finals.  less
