In 2007 the name was changed to"VIVA, Sandnes Kulturskolekor", Viva for short, when we talk about us. Our leading text for working with the children is what Pablo Casals once said: "Each second we live is a new and special moment, a never returning moment. We should tell every child: "Do you know what you are? You are a miracle! You are wonderful! In the whole wide world there is no-one like you!""  less

The Richmond Singers is a 55 voice women’s Choir which began performing in 1971. Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of othe...  moreThe Richmond Singers is a 55 voice women’s Choir which began performing in 1971. Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of others”. During our musical season (September – June), the Choir practices on Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 PM at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond. In addition to our weekly practices we usually plan one or two workshops with a choral clinician, as well as evenings with guest directors. We have two major performances per year, a Family Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May. We are very involved with our community and, by giving benefit concerts, help to raise funds for other organizations such as the Richmond Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Foundation and Tim Horton’s Kids Camps. In this time the Choir has participated in the Madrid Community Choir contest, obtaining the f...  moreSince its foundation in 2005 by the Choir master Enrique Martin, the Choir of Las Veredas school has been developing choral music with 11 to 16 year old pupils. In this time the Choir has participated in the Madrid Community Choir contest, obtaining the first prize in 2009 and 2010, and the secón prize in 2007 and 2008 Within the Choir activities, we could also mention their participation in theatre productions of the musicals Persephone and Midas by Steve Pogson, with which they obtained the first prize in the Vademorillo theatre contest. They were also awarded first prize in the Community of Madrid theatre contest, with the musical Super Jim, a play which was written specially for the Choir by the British authors Steve Pogson and George Simmers.
