HomeChoir is a new way of learning music. You don’t need to be an accomplished singer to take part. HomeChoir members watch and sing along with Ben - teaching is one-way so nobody can hear us but the neighbours! - and are also invited to take part in the live text chat with Ben and with fellow singers around the world. There is a vibrant and friendly social community among the Choir. If you can’t join in live, then you can still enjoy the music-making at any time. All our sessions remain available on YouTube after the live streams end for watching on catch-up when you can, and as often as you like. It is not necessary to be able to read music, and where scores are needed, Ben will display them on screen to help you learn. The Choir was initially created to unite students with a shared interest in praising the Lord through song. Soon, however, the weekly Choir rehearsals became not only a meeting place, but also a refuge for those looking for a non-threatening and empowering environment. Over the years, the Choir has grown to include members of all races and Christian denominations, and celebrates not only the diversity of its members, but also that of its audiences. UTGC has burst onto the international scene, while continuing to serve the greater Toronto community in local concerts and university events held throughout the year, like their community Christmas concert, and May's Gospelfest. During this time the Choir has achieved success on many levels: Locally they have received 10 golden diplomas on provincial level for the “ATKV Applous” competition in the category for advanced, Mixed high school Choirs; and 7 golden diplomas on national level for the same competition. They were the only Choir in the history of the Director’s trophy who won the award 8 times and they were also the first to do so in all three categories: Mixed- (5 times), boys’- (twice) and girls’ Choir (once). They have also received double gold at the Gauteng Eisteddfod, A and A+ awards at the Pretoria Beeld Eisteddfod and first place in their category in more than one local competition. They have annual workshops and master classes with well-known and respected conductors (both locally and internationally) and have hosted many international Choirs and groups. Aimed mainly at singers in the "young professional" category, it is for people who are looking for a Choir with a difference - a great social atmosphere and a challenging, varied repertoire. An auditioned Choir of around 25 members, Tamesis is a high-standard Choir, capable of singing 8-part repertoire on a few rehearsals and having fun while doing it! The Choir performs concerts each semester and also sings at Remembrance Day ceremonies, convocation ceremonies, and other events on campus and in the community. We are a volunteer, non-auditioned group open to all, but Choir members are expected to regularly attend rehearsals and the semester retreat, and to practice their parts on their own time. We usually put up practice files under “Resources” (members-only access) so that you can download your part and listen to it on whatever portable music-playing device you own. No musical experience is needed, but the ability to read music is an asset (if you can't read music, we'll help you learn).  less

Orfej...  moreKomorni zbor Orfej / Chamber Choir Orfej was formed in 1989. The Choir's permanent artistic director is Romana Rek. In the past years, Chamber Choir Orfej has received a number of awards, which places them among the more prominent Slovenian Choirs. Orfej has proven its high level of vocal performance in April 2010 at the prestigious Slovene national Choir competition ‘Naša Pesem’ (i. e. ‘Our Song’). The Choir scored 93 points, received the gold award, and the second prize in the category ‘Mixed Choirs’.  

Coro Canticorum aka YASFAP Choir was organized last October 5,2019. Most members of the Choir are active youth apostolate group of St.Francis of Assisi Parish in Maa.

Walton & Oatlands Choral Society is a friendly group of Mixed voices (SATB), numbering about 30 singers, under the control of our Musical Director Sarah Burston. We rehearse Tuesday evenings 8pm at Walton Methodist Church. New Members Welcome.
