Coaching and conducting is provided by Bishop Grosseteste University College Community Music Development Co-ordinator Annie Walker. The emphases for members of Vocal Authority is very firmly on having fun - whether they are singing Latin rounds or modern chart hits, they aim to do it with a big smile on their faces!

In 2010 it won the ATKV Animato Children's Choir Finals and the KKNK "Kanna" prize for best musical production (2013.) During 2014 the SCCC won the "Musica Sacra" Open category of the World Choral Games, in Riga (2014) and all categories of the ATKV Animato Finals (2014), being awarded the prize of "Choir of the Competition." It has recorded eight cd's, one dvd; has toured Europe seven times and Talented choristers from several schools in the Garden Route region of South Africa's Western Cape Province are auditioned and rehearse every Friday in the city of George, under the direction of conductor Jan-Erik Swart. They perform a repertoire of up to 50 pieces per year, and perform full-length concerts between 26-33 times per year. In 2003, Matjaž Šček, the conductor of the group, was replaced by Andreja Martinjak, who performed regularly with the Choir and took part in national and international Choir competitions where the Choir as well as the conductor were winning numerous prizes and awards. The greatest achievements of the Choir include a gold plaque, awarded in the 20th Slovenian national Choir competition, Naša pesem (Our song) 2007 and the second place in the 9th international Choir competition in Maribor 2008, where the Choir also won a special prize for the best Slovenian Choir of the competition. In 2008 we celebrated the 80th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian composer Pavle Merkú with a special cycle of concerts. The Choir consists of about 60 female and male singers. Many of the members are active and former students of the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover, but other professions are represented as well, and all singers are united in their wide choral experience and their joy in singing challenging works together. The performance of a wide range of a cappella works, some of them quite unknown, forms an important emphasis of the Choir. In addition to sacred and secular a cappella music of the 15th century until today, the Choir performs cantatas, masses, oratorios, and passions. Many compositions were broadcast for radio stations or published on CD. The Choir has recorded ten CDs and performed several world premieres of contemporary compositions, e.g. by Büsing, Dinescu, Fuchs and Wangenheim.
