In 2003, Matjaž Šček, the conductor of the group, was replaced by Andreja Martinjak, who performed regularly with the choir and took part in national and international choir competitions where the choir as well as the conductor were winning numerous prizes and awards. The greatest achievements of the choir include a gold plaque, awarded in the 20th Slovenian national choir competition, Naša pesem (Our song) 2007 and the second place in the 9th international choir competition in Maribor 2008, where the choir also won a special prize for the best Slovenian choir of the competition. In 2008 we celebrated the 80th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian composer Pavle Merkú with a special cycle of concerts. Sin...  moreWhen Fred Reinagel founded The Vail Chorale in 2011, his goal was simple: to create a non-auditioned community chorus that would provide an opportunity for choral music-making on Tucson’s east side, welcoming Singers of all ages and musical skills. Since its inception, The Vail Chorale has been entertaining local audiences with Fall and Spring concerts that feature musical styles for every taste. Performances have taken place at various locations including Empire and Cienega High Schools, the Arizona Senior Academy, and the Del Webb Lodge at Rancho del Lago. Chorale members have included high School students as well as adults of all ages, who have found that the intergenerational experience has added to the fun of singing together. Concert attendees have remarked at the obvious enjoyment and enthusiasm that comes across to the audience. The Vail Chorale is directed by Fred Reinagel, the Chorale’s founder. In this time the choir has participated in the Madrid Community choir contest, obtaining the f...  moreSince its foundation in 2005 by the choir master Enrique Martin, the choir of Las Veredas School has been developing choral music with 11 to 16 year old pupils. In this time the choir has participated in the Madrid Community choir contest, obtaining the first prize in 2009 and 2010, and the secón prize in 2007 and 2008 Within the choir activities, we could also mention their participation in theatre productions of the musicals Persephone and Midas by Steve Pogson, with which they obtained the first prize in the Vademorillo theatre contest. They were also awarded first prize in the Community of Madrid theatre contest, with the musical Super Jim, a play which was written specially for the choir by the British authors Steve Pogson and George Simmers. The work of the choir is not solely centred on the training of new Singers and preparing concerts, since its beginning we have firmly believed that a junior choir should be innovative, and, year after year the choir has sought after original works by Spanish auth...    less
