Founded in 1989 by Mr. Albert Morland to provide an opportunity for ex-members of the Wonderboom High School Choir to continue Singing together after matriculating, it has since evolved to include members from a broader community that come from various backgrounds and professions (including law, accounting, nursing, teaching and IT) and are between 18 and 65 years of age. The choir has toured and performed across South Africa during the past 30 years and has an established reputation as a warm, friendly and “no-fuss” group with good choral sound who are just as comfortable performing at nursing homes and other charitable events as they are performing alongside the best choirs in the world on International stages, for instance, at the 10th World Choir Games in 2018, where they took home a silver medal (79.5%) in the champion’s category for mixed adult choirs. These were Chacewater & District Male Choir and Carnon Vale Male Choir. We aim to be the most entertaining male voice choir in the South West and for the City of Truro to be proud of us. The ethos of the choir is to have fun and enjoy Singing. Each year we host a visiting choir and also spend a weekend away. The Chamber C...  moreThe Cantilon Chamber Choir is Western Canada’s only professional level children’s choir. Singers in this ensemble demonstrate a high level of commitment to choral Singing and to sharing this art with audiences at home and around the world. The Chamber Choir forms the core of Cantilon’s touring and recording program and participates in many exciting and unique activities throughout the year. The Chamber Choir performs locally in concert at least four times per season, and competes in music festivals at local, provincial and national levels. The Chamber Choir generally follows a three-year touring cycle: a regional tour in year one, national tour in year two, and an international tour every third year. In addition to its regular concert series, the Chamber Choir is often invited to perform with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Pro Coro Canada, Edmonton Opera and the Richard Eaton Singers.  less
