Our collective history began in 1936 when Vladislav Sokolov (who was a a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory) created a CHILDREN'S CHOIR, which is almost 70 years was a model of Russian choral art throughout the Soviet Union and in many foreign countries ...  moreOur collective history began in 1936 when Vladislav Sokolov (who was a a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory) created a CHILDREN'S CHOIR, which is almost 70 years was a model of Russian choral art throughout the Soviet Union and in many foreign countries . 2008 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Professor Sokolov, in the anniversary concert attended CHOIR, consisting of pupils of CHILDREN'S CHOIR. After the speech the former pupils of CHILDREN'S CHOIR - people of different professions and ages , realized that they all share a love of music and choral singing , decided not to leave, and formed a new team . Our first CD-drive, consisting of 19 works of Russian and foreign classics, Russian folk songs, songs by modern composers, was recorded in 2013. Our CHOIR took part in competitions and festivals in Russia, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Ireland, Belgium where repeatedly became the winner.  less

Within the CHOIR there are acting two ensembles: children’s CHOIR «Brevis» (vocalists from 13 to 18 years of age) and a Vocal ensemble «Brevis» (girls CHOIR - vocalist from 18 to 30 years of age). All of the vocalists started their «internship in singing» with well-known children’s CHOIR of Osijek, i.e. «Osječki zumbići» (Tiny mosquitoes of Osijek). Up-to-now, the CHOIR had a series of successful performances throughout the territory of Croatia - in Osijek, Zagreb, Split, Varaždin, Šibenik and also abroad - in Orašje (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Budapest, Pecs (Hungary), Athens (Greece), Salzburg, Graz, Klagenfurt, Villach, Wienna (Austria), Pforzheim, Munich, Düseldorf, Speyer, Sindelfingen, Mosbach (Germany), Helsingborg (Sweden),Xiamen (China), USA (New York), Canada, (Montreal, Toronto), Bulgaria (Varna), Poland (Poznan). We are a non-auditioned community CHOIR, vibrant, fun and friendly, launched in Nov 2016. We welcome anyone aged 11+, no experience necessary. 3 concerts a year plus other performance opportunities. Inclusive and relaxed, free first session.

The words are my own and tell of children playing their games in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to the angels and join their singing. The performance here is by the Composer's CHOIR conducted by Daniel Shaw.
